| What kind of kit should I buy? | Actually, our answer to that
is "What do you have in mind?". If your interest is in cars, then get a "car
kit". If you are interested in modern jets, then there are a lot of modern
jet model kits in store for you. We think that the actual question is "What
is the level of difficulty of a kit that will fit my skills?". Well, now
you're talking. For modelers from age 8 to 10, the recommended kits are
those that does not require gluing or commonly called "snap-tight" or "snap-tite".
These kits have a few parts and are easy to build. For more experienced
modelers, go for Skill Level 2 or Skill Level 3. Take note of the
number of parts. The more the parts, the more difficult the kit is.
For many modelers, they usually begin with tanks or "armor". Why? Because with tanks, it is easy to paint away your mistakes! Remember that tanks are usually dirty in reality so your mistake can be "weathered" out. Many armor kits are also easy to build. Just check out the specifications on the box. |

| How fast will I get to be a really good modeler? | That actually is up to you! Practice makes perfect. There are modelers who get the hang of the hobby within a few weeks, some in a few months, some in a few years. But what is most important for all of us is that we must have fun in this hobby. After all, it is just a hobby! It should relieve us of our stress and make us enjoy our past time more. |
