How long have you been building models?
Since 2005
What are your 2 most liked categories
(armor/aircraft or ships/armor). Why?
I like Armor, Motorcycles and Cars. They
all are on the extremes. Armor looks great when heavily weathered. While
cars and bikes look great with their showroom shine paintjob.
When did you join IPMS Manila (what year)?
2005
Why did you join IPMS Manila?
I
want to learn from those who have been in the hobby for a long time. and I
want to have something to pass on to my kid that would teach him
discipline and perseverance.
What did/do you most like being a member of
IPMS Manila? The
new friend that I now have and advice on how to build my favorite
subjects.
What do you do besides building models? Other
sports or hobbies? I like working on PC
Hardware and enjoy PC gaming - mostly on racing simulation
What is your favorite motto?
"Life
is simple, you make choices and you don't look back."

in UP-Manila
How long have you been building models? I think I started when I was 12
years old. I remember building one
Matchbox 1/76 aiplane a week for about 4 years and then it was on-and-off
with 1/35 Tamiya armoured vehicles for 15 years. I stopped in 1990 due to
sheer frustration of not maturing as a modeler. I went back to my old
"prolific" way when I joined IPMS-Manila in 2005.
What are your 2 most liked categories (armor/aircraft or ships/armor). Why?
I love to tailor-build armour for dioramas! I'm very picky with my
choices of kits as long as they would add drama to my dioramas. I also love
to build large scale airplanes because of the abundant opportunity to
superdetail them.
When
did you join IPMS Manila(what year)? It was 2005 It was Boss Ben's term.
(It's obvious I wasn't very
active back then when I was still trying to get my feet wet again!)
Why did you join IPMS Manila? I knew this was the answer to my prayers! I
need lessons from the masters of the trade to finally build those dream
kits. It's a more interesting question to ask "HOW" instead of "WHY". I
filled-up that application form at (of all places) STC-SM North EDSA, the
only time I've been there till now!
What did/do you most like being a member of IPMS Manila? The members!
While I feel I could still end-up a better modeler somewhere else, the club
members made the "honeymoon sweeter". All the guys are very helpful in many
ways aside from modeling. Sorry, too many to mention!
What do you do besides building models? Other sports or hobbies? I
collect action figures and die-cast metal robots. I have the complete set
of Marvel Legends, Lord of the Rings and Transformers! I'm starting to
collect BAN DAI die-cast robots. These collections comprise the activity I
had when I "abandoned" modeling 5 years ago. Now it's a financial mess
maintaining these hobbies and models altogether!
What is your favorite motto? Work, work, work ...

making models back in 1996. Then I joined IPMS-Manila and return to
modeling in 2000 up until now and I'm 40!
What are your 2 most liked categories
(armor/aircraft or ships/armor). Why?
I like Aircraft, Armor and sci-fi!
When did you join IPMS Manila (what year)?
Late November of 2003 if I
remember correctly.
Why did you join IPMS Manila?
To learn more of the technques applied in
model making and new approach in making them. In short to learn more and
have more friends in the process.
What did/do you most like being a member of
IPMS Manila? The booze,
the foods
and the time well spent with my old firends and the new ones I've met in
the club sharing techniques and ideas.
What do you do besides building models? Other
sports or hobbies?I also play
Airsoft once in awhile.

How long have you been building
models? My
best friend back in grade 5 showed a Revell catalog entitled " Are you

What are your 2 most liked categories
(armor/aircraft or ships/armor) . Why? Aircraft in1/48 scale for
variety in subject and sailing ships for the shear fun rigging them.
When did you join IPMS Manila (what year)?
March 2004
Why did you join IPMS Manila? It's a

What did/do you most like being a member of
IPMS Manila? I like the friendship it fosters and the nemesis it
festers.
What do you do besides building models?
Other sports or hobbies ? Collecting comic books . Last count (which
about ten years ago) I had about 2500 pieces (give or take hundred)
What is your favorite motto? Skill is

College Undergraduate (currently taking up BS Nursing
at Our Lady of Fatima University)
How
long have you been building models?Seven years alr eady (f.y.i. my
first models were a Spitfire and a
Messerschmitt 109)
What are your 2 most liked categories (armor/aircraft or ships/armor).
Why? Aircraft and their wheeled/tracked antiaircraft enemies
(soft-skinned armor). The
former presents modellers like me a wide variety of camouflage schemes and
unit emblems to adorn them and make them beautiful and they have no
repetitive assembly tasks (such as creating suspension units for each
wheel in a model tank, for example). I also have the opportunity
(especially with big scale prop aircraft) to motorize them and add life to
them. Building antiaircraft guns and missiles (such as my SA-2 and
37-mm Flak gun) is my tribute to the less-appreciated but skilled members
of the land forces who in wartime are busily trying to swat or blast out
off the sky the annoying flying contraptions na (in Tagalog) nagkakalat na
lang lagi ng lagim sa kanilang ka-tropa at sa kanilang mga iniwang pamilya
o syota back home.
When did you join IPMS Manila (what year)? 2004
Why
did you join IPMS Manila? There is a saying that two heads are
better than one. It is a chance for me to
learn from experts in every field of
modelling skills I wouldn't otherwise have learned or acquired on my own
in a short time.
What did/do you most like being a member of IPMS Manila?
The friendly attitude of the members to the newcomers. The members of
this group, despite different social and educational status as well as
occupations, do not exhibit arrogance due to their skills but rather use
them as means to help other members in their own endeavour.
What do you do besides building models? Other sports or hobbies?
I used to write short stories and articles. These appeared twice in the
Philippine Star's My
Favorite Book and My Favorite Movie section and once in True Philippine
Ghost Stories in which I won second place in their 2005 Ghost Story
Writing Contest. (You can find it in book 16 of
their series)
I also liked to read comic books, particulary manga (Japanese comic books)
and detective novels, in particular those written by Laura Joh Rowland. I
also liked listening to jazz music, my favorite stations being 105.1
Crossover and 106.7 Dream FM. My dream is to be able to learn how to play
a saxophone in the future
What is your favorite motto? Fortes fortuna juvat
(Fortune favors the brave)
What are my favorite sayings
Optime olere hostem occisum (A dead enemy smells good) -
Vitellius
Nemo me impune lacessit (Nobody harms me with impunity) -
E.A. Poe
By the small things shall you know them - Jesuit saying
The laughter of a fool is like the crackling of thorns under
the pot - Bible
There's no Indian left stand ing but me - Sitting Bull

How
long have you been building models? Since 1978
What are your 2 most liked categories (armor/aircraft or ships/armor).
Why? Armor and military vehicles since you can bring it around while
you build it expecially if it's 1/72. Then aircraft follows. For me I
categorize my kits not as armor or aircraft but as esoteric and not
esoteric. Not Esoteric is a Sherman or a Spitfire, Esoteric is a Russian
T-28 medium tank or a Polish Pzl P-11 fighter. The stranger it is the
better for me.
When did you join IPMS Manila (what year)? 2006 I think.
Why
did you join IPMS Manila? I saw equally strange people.
What did/do you most like being a member of IPMS Manila? The strange
people.
What do you do besides building models? Other sports or hobbies? I
collect books and magazines on military history and have more than a
thousand of them. I do badminton and bike around town.
What is your favorite motto? I never got around to having a motto in
life. However for building kits it is the following: "Life is too short"

Manuel III Anacleto Salvador y Perdigon
BS Management Major Legal Management
Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor
Lawyer by profession and work as a Director of Tax &
Corporate Services in a Makati based Auditing Firm
How long have you been building models? I have been modeling since I
was ten years old but modeled occasionally or not at all from college until
early in my career as a lawyer. I started to model regularly once more a few
months prior to joining IPMS Manila.
What are your 2 most liked categories (armor/aircraft or ships/armor).
Why? To be honest, I model in almost all the categories and in all
scales and have tried all except perhaps civilian or racing automobiles so I
do not have a "most liked" category. My preference for modeling has nothing
to do with category but more on the subject matter and I will model
something that I find interesting for an infinite number of reasons.
However, I seem to model more armor and aircraft subjects nowadays perhaps
because there are more interesting subjects in these two categories than in
any of the others. I also have a soft spot for WWI aircraft and science
fiction or fantasy subjects.
When did you join IPMS (what year)? 2004
Why did you join IPMS Manila? I felt that I was ready to go back to
the hobby and learn new things. I believe then as I do now that the best way
to learn is to actually make a model and to watch and learn from others.
Joining IPMS has given me the opportunity to do both and have fun at the
same time.
What did/do you most like being a member of IPMS Manila? The
camaraderie among individuals with similar interests.
What do you do besides building models? Other sports or hobbies? Work
and take care of my family of course....!
In terms of my other recreational interests, I read and collect books
on military history, politics and biographical works on significant persons.
I also have started a modest collection of die cast robots and anime related
figures. I like watching movies, taking care of my dog and maintaining my
tropical fish aquarium. I also like being active so I jog, swim, do yoga,
jump rope, play badminton and airsoft, play the drums and jam with other
musicians.
What is your favorite motto? Not really a motto but more of a
complaint - "So much to do..so little time!"

How long have you been building models? Since 1978
What are your 2 most liked categories? armor & aircraft Why? A
weathered finish is expected on armor and military vehicles. Aircraft
represent an interest in history and technology.
When did you join IPMS (what year)? IPMS
Philippines - since 1975. IPMS Manila since 2003
Why did you join IPMS Manila? So that there could be another IPMS
chapter in the Philippines that would expand the hobby with more people.
What did/do you most like being a member of IPMS Manila? Can't really
say since I have not been able to get to a face to face meeting yet.
What do you do besides building models? Fixing and painting 1:1 scale
vehicles. Small Arms and historic re-enacting. Photojournalism and
publishing.
What is your favorite motto? Keep it
Simple and get it done.

How long have you been building models? I started building models eons
ago, when I was still 6 or 7 years old (I think). My first model was an old
Ford (model T?) car which my grandfather gave me. I used Duco cement to
build it in about 5 minutes, and pentel pen to color it. It's still with me.
What
are your 2 most liked categories? Why? Armor and aircraft,
because....hey, I like
figures, too! Actually, I'd also like to go into cars, ships and sci-fi.
When
did you join IPMS (what year)? I think sometime in 2004 (or was it
2005?).
Why
did you join IPMS Manila? This guy at STC Ali Mall gave me an
application form. I filled it up and gave it back to him. After some time,
Tim Zarco called up and informed me about the upcoming monthly meeting. I
attended it and found out that it was (and still is) fun, interesting and
very informative. Plus the members were (and still are) unpretentious and
very helpful. So, I decided to stay.
What
did/do you like most being a member of IPMS Manila? The camaraderie of
the members.
What
do you do besides building models? Other sports or hobbies? I'm into
airsoft (thanks to Noel and the guys!),
and real pistol/rifle shooting. I used to play tennis and bowling, and did
some biking, too.
What
is your favorite motto? I dunno....maybe "Kill 'em all and let God
sort them out"? Or "Ze Bosh will never go through ze Ardennes because tanks
cannot go through it"?

United Neon (A Division of
Ever Corporation)
How long have you been building models? I
started when I was 11 years old then went on hiatus from the moment i
stepped into college until 1999. Back then, i was primarily building 1/72
scale model aircraft (both Modern and World War II). But i was also
immersed on some armor and ship projects at that time.
What are your 2 most liked categories? Armor and Aircraft. Why? Armor
because of the numerous variants you can model, as well as
the abundant possibilities you can do with them in terms of realism.
Aircraft comes in second because it was really my dream to become a pilot
when i was young.
When did you join IPMS (what year)?
I
joined IPMS-Manila in March of 2004.
Why did you join IPMS Manila?
I wanted an avenue where i can really hone my
skills further. I felt that looking at various on-line and print sources
were not enough unless i actually saw them being done. It turned out I got
more than what i hoped for. I met new friends and a couple of old ones from
my childhood days.
What did/do you like most being a member of IPMS Manila? Learning from
the club now comes in second. The most gratifying part is the friendship we
have developed with each other. Nothing can top that.
What do you do besides building models? Other sports or
hobbies? I'm also a member of IPMS-Manila's airsoft team, A.I.M
(Airsoft IPMS Manila). I also do other recreational sports like Badminton
and Biking.
What is your favorite motto? Let Go and Let

How long have you been building models? I started building models when
i was in grade school. As i got older it was an on and off affair. I stopped
building during my college days due to other interests then came back after
buying an airbrush from my first paycheck. Since then i have been
consistently building.
What are your 2 most liked categories (armor/aircraft or ships/armor). Why?
Armor and figures. As a kid, toy soldiers had been my addiction. That
probably explains why...
When did you join IPMS (what year)? I joined the club in August 2005.
Why did you join IPMS Manila? It was unexpected. I never really had an
interest in joining clubs or organizations due to the limited spare time I
have. It started one Sunday morning when my cousin tagged me along to an
IPMS Manila meeting. I found the people warm and accommodating. After
attending more meetings, friendships grew and there were more things to talk
about other than scale models and military history.
What did/do you most like being a member of IPMS Manila? The club has
a worthwhile vision and that is to promote the hobby through education. The
culture in the club is cordial and supportive. Its all about modelers
helping fellow modelers.
What do you do besides building models? Other sports or hobbies? Other
than scale modeling, I have other interests which I find equally rewarding.
One is digital photography and the other is desktop music production. I
enjoy these very much since they provide artistic challenges. In my younger
years, I was heavy into adventure sports and martial arts. I guess as you
age, you tend to mellow down. Now its mostly family time and a few to
squeeze in these bunch of hobbies.
What is your favorite motto? Work Hard...Play Hard...
